Teacher

Job Description: Teacher
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

The Teacher reports directly to the Site Director and is responsible for the following job accountabilities.

Job Responsibilities

  • Be in ratio
  • Carry out planned activities with children
  • Attend to each child's nutritional, health, physical, emotional, recreational and educational needs
  • Complete bulletin boards in accordance with activities that have been planned
  • Create monthly activity calendars with age appropriate curriculum that will keep children interested, active and enrich
  • their overall knowledge base
  • Adopt a disciplinary method that minimizes behavioral problems and execute when necessary
  • Act as a mentor and resource to other teachers and teacher assistants
  • Demonstrate leadership and room control
  • Work with other staff in a cooperative manner
  • Adapt scheduling to meet the needs and desires of the children
  • Work with Head Teacher and Assistant Site Director to manage supply needs and inventory
  • Use available materials appropriately
  • Role model appropriate language, conversation and behavior at all times
  • Utilize personal strengths and interests to enhance the program

Teacher Assistant

Job Description: Teacher Assistant
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Employee

The Teacher Assistant reports directly to the Site Director and is responsible for the following job accountabilities.

Job Responsibilities

  • Supervise children who attend Kids' Country.
  • Be in ratio
  • Carry out planned activities with children
  • Attend to each child's nutritional, health, physical, emotional, recreational and educational needs
  • Prepare activity plans in coordination with teachers monthly activity calendars with age appropriate curriculum that will keep children interested, active and enrich their overall knowledge base
  • Listen to children and interact in an appropriate manner
  • Adopt a disciplinary method that minimizes behavioral problems and execute when necessary
  • Use teachers as a resource for activity planning and room management
  • Demonstrate leadership and room control
  • Work with other staff in a cooperative manner
  • Adapt scheduling to meet the needs and desires of the children
  • Use available materials appropriately
  • Use age appropriate language, conversation and behavior at all times
  • Utilize personal strengths and interests to enhance the program
  • Role model through appropriate words and actions
